Inter-state Ford was incorporated in 1980 as one of two commercial-only Ford truck dealerships in Connecticut. The company is family owned and operated, with over 40 employees. Inter-state handles franchises for three manufacturers, Ford, Sterling (a Freightliner company) and Hino (a Toyota company), as well as specializing in used class 8 tractor sales. Inter-state also owns Tenco of Southern New England, an equipment company in East Berlin, Connecticut, that manufacturers snow and ice removal trucks.
